Stop the sewage scandal - sign the petition to clean up the Calder

Our River Calder is among the most polluted in the country. The website Top of the Poops collects data from EDM (Event Duration Monitoring) data and Consented Discharges to Controlled Waters with Conditions from Environment Agency.

It shows the Calder is top of the poop league in terms of hours of sewage discharge a year! We are campaigning to clean up the Calder.

On Calderdale Council, we put forward a successful political motion calling for action. Our Councillors continue to press for action on this issue at Council meetings.

But we need your help! Please support our petition to stop the sewage scandal, let's keep up the political pressure and clean up the river Calder.

Stop the sewage scandal clean up the Calder

The River Calder is now the most polluted in the country, according to the website 'Top of the Poops', and based on the total hours of sewage discharge last year. This is unacceptable. This petition calls on Yorkshire Water, Calderdale Council and the Secretary of State for the Environment to take join action to reduce sewage spills into our River.
